In 2018, we’re hoping to share our passion for proper cooking with more people than ever before.
We’ve created a new set of courses which pack a pair of fantastic recipes – and lunch with wine – into a slightly shorter day than our full courses. Liven up your lemon drizzle skills with Bake it Beautiful, learn the secrets of our Swiss Muesli Bread with Knead to Know or explore slow cooked pork belly on our Just Cook course.
And if you’ve ever wished you could replicate our much-loved potato rösti at home, our new Make The Bettys Swiss Rösti course will teach you everything you need to know.

Of course, a trip to our Cookery School isn’t simply about cooking. It’s an experience to remember - you’ll enjoy the same warmth and hospitality that our Café Tea Rooms are famous for. For those who prefer a more leisurely experience – join us on the evening of Friday 11th August to watch our skilled tutors at work as they guide you through the creation of this on-trend, light and delicate entertaining menu. Dishes are inspired by the subtle flavours of Harrogate’s botanically infused Slingsby Gin and there will also be a demonstration of Slingsby Gin based Cocktails to compliment these lovely dishes.
We have full day and half-day classes available for 8-11 year olds and 12-16 year olds in early August.
The emphasis of our Young Chef courses is to develop confidence in the kitchen, to teach skills that will last a life time and to create a passion for home cooked food. Working individually at their own work station in our well-equipped kitchen and, always under the keen and watchful eye of our nurturing tutors, your Young Chefs will create tasty, fresh and exciting dishes to take home at the end of the class.
